Hello there,

I am from Germany, so please excuse my English if not correct.
Googeling did not showed me a proper German speaking forum, so I decided to ask here my beginner questions as this forum seems to have many participants and so I hope to get fast and competent answers.

Thank you for having me.

Greetings from Germany*
Maxim

*I myself am not a German but I grew up here. Destiny.

By the way, does anyone know if it is possible (and advisable!) to enhance the nicotine content of the tobacco and keeping it moisture for a longer time adding some of the liquids that vapers use?
Like I said, I am new into this. And I do not want to ruin my precious tobacco.

The three ways I can think of to reasonably increase nicotine in a pipe tobacco are:
  1. Mix with another tobacco that is high in nicotine, but will not compete too much with the flavor of the other tobacco. Mac Baren HH Rustica is one such tobacco that comes to mind. Five Brothers is another, but I don't know about its availability in Germany.
  2. A version of #1. Add snuff. Some snuffs (schmalzler) are incredibly potent. Of course, avoid flavored snuff.
  3. Increase the pH level. This will not increase the nicotine, but will increase the percentage of free nicotine available for absorption. Avoid sugary tobaccos, whose added sugars reduce pH. Most likely, low sugar tobacco leaf, like Burley will provide a bigger nic hit. Maybe a little adding a bit of baking soda (bicarbonate of soda), or dissolving some in a bit of dry liquor like vodka,, then adding it to your tobacco. This is JUST A GUESS. I could be very wrong.

Welcome from Sydney, Oz

If you are looking for a high(er) nicotine blend, refer to Tobacco Reviews.
The reviews will give an indication of the strength
Probably a better option than looking at adding nicotine to a blend

Just be aware that the reviews are opinions and one person's strong blend could be weak for another
I usually look at reviews by JimInks and PipeStud for (both Forums members) guidance

No, pipe smoking is not for fast nicotine hits, it's about the flavour. There ARE strong blends, much stronger than any cigarette tobacco, MacBaren HH Rustica is one, a lot of the heavy Kentucky blends are pretty strong too - you'll feel it in the nose, but you won't get a nicotine hit like inhaling a cigarette.

Mixing in vape nicotine won't do much good, it is in VG so it won't permeate the pipe tobacco, it will just give you nicotine hotspots while smoking your pipe. Also it won't help keep the tobacco more moist, you need jars or mylar bags for that.

Check out Estervals Pipe House - Estervals Pipe House - https://www.tecon-gmbh.de/index.php?language=en&lgcode=1, has a ton of great tobacco.
