GBD pipe

I’ll be honest and say I have no interest in this pipe and really want to know if it’s worth listing or trading. This was part of my fathers collection. I did Google-fu and can’t find any info of this.
This isn’t a “I want to see if I hit something big” here..:I’m keeping and smoking the majority of what I have of my fathers.

If it is a pipe you would smoke, even occasionally in tribute to your dad, I'd do that. Otherwise, selling it might pay an electric bill, but unless you are desperate, so what?

That’s a really unique pipe unlike most of the GBD meers I’ve seen. I really like it.

As I mentioned, I already have several as tribute to my father (like 20) that I’m keeping and smoking . I do intend to sell or trade this as I have no interest i keeping it. I just am not seeing any reference to this on the ol inter webs.

Just to add. I’m honestly surprised my dad had this one. He collected briars because he had an affinity for the characteristics of wood grain (not just with pipes).

That GBD is an especially uncommon one. Do you have the case? Personally, if it were me, I would go through one of the Ebay resellers that are known for carrying high grade pipes as they would likely bring far more interest, and money with it, than you are likely to generate yourself.

Every piper has to try at least one meer, its the allure of the White Lady. That is an unusual GBD, they typically did standard shapes. It's probably worth around $150,maybe slightly less.

I sold this one and added it to funds to build upon the collection of his and now mine . There are several that I have kept of my fathers including this one. This was passed down from my grandfather to him and was brought back to the states from WW2 (it’s much older than the war). Just got it back from Briarville getting it restored and new stem. It is now smokable even though I likely won’t

It seems, though, that while this is a pipe his father owned, it clearly wasn’t one he’d ever smoked. So it may hold little sentimental value.

This was the only pipe he had that was not displayed in a Decatur cabinet I now have hanging on my wall. It was in a cardboard file storage box along with pipe cleaners, pipe socks and boxes for ones he had displayed, and tobacco tins. This was an impulse buy for him I am certain. I appreciate the feedback, though

I'm sure they are happy. Very cool pipe to add to any GBD collection. We've only ever had one GBD meer.

That's definitely a unique looking meerschaum pipe. Someone will enjoy it. The other meerschaum will make for a great keepsake for you. Maybe smoke it on Father's Day or your dads or grandpa's Birthday as a way to remember them.
