GBD 311 New Standard Restoration

Here's a recent restoration, a New Standard 311 billiard.
The pipe was delivered from Canada in a plain paper envelope, no packing and assembled (with the stem firmly stuck).

Getting the stuck stem removed, without breaking the tenon was the most challenging aspect.

@cossack - just a clean and polish, no restain of the bowl top was necessary. I use the highest grades possible (see article for process) to avoid altering the stain. Re-staining a pipe is easy. Doing it the right way a bit harder for the average hobbyist. George D tells me he has 100 different stain colors in his shop, but matching. I have but three. I can get close, but not always perfect.
@les - yep, the old freezer trick. The scary thing about that is that the tenon then becomes as brittle as an icicle.
