Over in the June 2010 What are you Smoking? thread, dunedain made this post:

I am smoking Erinmore Mixture. A rare gem, my son found for me on Fathers Day. I really love this stuff, but it too bad that it is no longer made. It is a true original. Taste like apricots and Earl Grey tea. He told me that the B&M had one more can, and I will be getting that.

I recently started a dialog with my local tobacconist about getting some Erinmore Flake to try, but he was having trouble getting some from the distributor. He had a couple of tins of Erinmore Mixture on the shelf, which I did not pick up.
What's the story with Erinmore? Is this a disappearing tobacco, and if so, what's the cause? Should I try this blend only to have it disappear? 'Tis better to loved and lost and all that?

Now owned by Peter Stokkaebye and Co . The flavor will probably change or at least in peoples minds it will. http://www.peterstokkebye.com/pipe_erinmore.htm

Ah, thanks for the info, igloo! However, since my tobacconist doesn't stock PS, I might be pinched either way! Oh well. I'll see what he has to say. Thanks again.

Erinmore is one of the few brands that are easy to get over here. Most of the few shops that sell pipe tobacco only have Erinmore and/or Borkum Riff and/or Amphora Red. Anything else requires a trip into the city.

From my observations at the B&M Stokkebye has had supply issues resulting from their reorganization. Recently, however, things appear to be getting better. Again, this is just from my conversations with the B&M owner.

My two main interwebworld suppliers (both site sponsors) have ample supply of it. And the Erinmore mixture is a regular in my rotation, even though some people hate it. No trouble getting it at all.
