I'm new here.I'm trying to learn my way around the site.Some kind folks have sent me Friend Request.Could someone please explain what this is,And how I respond to them..Thanks

Hello! and welcome to the forums! As you will soon discover, we're a pretty affable group that actively seeks and shares pipe related information. I think the Friend Request system is just an expression of fraternal good will. As you become familiar with the website and begin to send private notifications, you will find that your list of friends facilitates the process somewhat.

I have always accepted the friend requests. I would agree with cortez it is done in goodwill and helps nicely in the long run.

Hey Puffy, welcome aboard.

The friendship requests just afford the sender and the recipient of the friendship request to see; first off who you really are, and secondly if you share any commonality. e.g. preferred tobacco, or maker or style of pipe, and where you live.
But, primarily it's just a way to say welcome and for you to feel that way as well.
