Never licked a cigarette ashtray but I have an imagination. Blame it on my distaste for most burley-forward blends, this one is quite one-dimensional. Bites if you're not careful, but if you are, it's tolerable. I like complexity, richness, smoothness and flavor in my baccy and this one lacks most of that. It only gets two stars instead of one because there are pipers who really enjoy burley and it seems a quality blend and I know H&H uses quality leaf. Although I don't suppose burley is the main ingredient, nevertheless it has that classic ashy character that I just don't care for. Nice room note, few relights, a well-behaved smoke. I have to admit that the first third is more challenging with lots of rough edges but it eventually settles down. But too little too late. Two stars.
