I saw a Medico Jet Steam pipe on eBay fitted with a Dr Grabow stem. I don't know why I wanted to have it, but at $9.99 I could always use it for a source of briar dust or a spare stem.
When it arrived it had a very dark, dirty, pitted and varnished exterior which I removed with acetone and lots of sanding. Now it just has a few coats of wax and (perhaps) looks much better even with the Grabow stem. It's actually quite comfortable to smoke. I'll probably bid for a real Jet Stream next since I like the '60s design.

Those old Jet Streams are cool! They made two or three different versions of them. I like the looks of yours with the banded Grabow stem.

That stem fits nice and snug, too. It could even a take a Grabow filter if I wanted to use one.
