Was out and happened upon a Tinder Box store. Went in looking a certain cigar but found this little gem instead. Only I have no info on it and cannot seem to find anything online by La Rocca except in some old estate listings. Anybody know this brand? Or what shape this is? I still suck at identifying the shapes.

Yeah & often flat-bottomed too. But a full bent billiard or egg can sometimes pass for one, so.... I like jaw-hangers; they tend to cut down the force the lever of a straight or even half-bent. With I could help on the pipe itself, NM, not one I'm familiar with. :( Good to see you again!

According to Cup o Joes's...
Since the late 1800s, this third generation pipe making family headed by Fabio La Rocca has been carving excellent quality pipes for very reasonable prices. Considered one of Italy's best selling lines, La Rocca offers many shapes and finishes from which to choose, including the Como, Escuro, Matte Lucite, Novo, and Sitter tobacco pipes listed below.

Nice pipe. You could call it a full bent billiard or brandy. That rustication reminds me of my La Rocca poker, except its carving is more distinctly looping. I saw it at my local independent pipe shop and it was just too folksy for me, but it stuck in my mind until I finally went back about two weeks later determined to buy it if it was still there; it was and I did. One of these "ordinary" factory pipes that has a special aura, like yours. I like the straightforward look with a bit of the dashing, a good smoking pipe at a solidly reasonable price.

Yeah this was the only one that caught my eye. All the rest were rather bland and had small bowls. I prefer deep bowl pipes and this one is an excellent smoker. Especially for the dryer blends as that bend collects moisture fast.

Just a note, I wouldn't call it a Hungarian/Oom-Paul because on those the shank does a complete U-turn and runs parallel to the wall of the bowl.

I just picked up a large La Rocca Baron from my local tobacconist today, tight stright grain, vulcanite stem, big bowl ,beautiful pipe for $75... my other 7 pipes are Petersens.. with a small Dutch pipe ( forget the manufacturers name)... the Petersens were all over $100, and this pipe looks and smokes pretty well in comparison.. not a single fill that i could find

No photo but I just purchased a "Rusticated" Churchwarden Briar Pipe at Barclays Pipe Tobacco & Cigars in Columbus, Ohio for $35!!!

Gorgeous pipe with a larger than standard bowl.

Great looking pipe with a Great, open draw.

I Reccomend!
