Major score, there. The Golden Jubilee is the only line Savinelli makes that absolutely will NEVER have a fill. They are scarce and expensive at retail. (And no longer imported to the US. These days most of the production is kept by Savinelli as presentation pipes for heads of state and other VIPs)
Enjoy! :D

Yeah, major score.
George - just curious about the "not imported in the US" comment. Smokingpipes has them listed.

(Just went and looked)
Indeed they do. LOTS of them! 8O
Something definitely changed from a few years ago when their annual production dropped to around 200 and the company started holding on to them for special occasions. None from that era were filter pipes, either, and only VERY rarely were they sandblasted.
My guess would be they either found a new or additional source for briar, or they started allowing small fills. (I'd be surprised and disappointed if it was the latter, for sure.)
This is a big forum. Someone who knows someone will likely be filling us in soon on Savinelli's current state of affairs.

Thanks, I hope we hear more also. I have a GDO 313 I just bought.
Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread. The OP's pipe was really a major score for $3.

We still import the full line of Giubeleo d'Oros here, and they are still awesome, but fewer people are chasing the really high end production pipes these days, so it seems harder to find them in shops. I can't say definitively, of course, but I've never seen a fill on a Giub. I've never been able to find one on a Punto, either, but I haven't yet made that careful a survey. In any case, they can certianly be bough, but never for three dollars.

That is terrific, a $3 GDO! Bulldog GDO's go over $200, so that is a major score. I like the older line, with vulcanite, no-filter stems.
I've looked for a GDO 320, but this one is way out of my pay grade....(I'm not familiar with Lauidiso)

Toby, I can't thank you enough for the great work you did on the cleaning and polishing.

The wife and I are spending the weekend visiting antique/collectible shops and flea markets but I don't think I'm going to find another pipe of this quality.
