We just got our first cold snap here in Kentucky. 30°F, and my joints are already aching. :( I am not a Winter animal.

Looks like winter is coming on in Red Deer. We're in Indian Summer here in central N.C. I did turn on the heat, but only in the last few days when it got cool (for us) at night.

Go another 100 miles west and they’ve probably been buried in snow since mid October.
I spent a few years in the foothills a while back and got to see the landscape transform from “fall” to snow filling the ditches “winter” within a couple hours drive.

(Actually I don’t think Rotten Monkey Horse is even that far away)

frozen, yes you are right. Rocky is only 90 kilometers west and they always get more snow than us. Sundrie too.

When we lived in Tumbler Ridge, BC, sledding season started in October at the higher elevations.
