I'd smoke that, but I actually have a Black Goat of the Woods Tavern T-shirt. Pipe's a little rich for my blood right now, though. Ia! Ia! Cthulhu Fhtagn!

Interesting ... I've read some Lovecraft and even played the role playing game, and I know the kind of cult following he has. Still, I'm surprised that pipe is bringing such a price.

There is a picture of the front pawpaw, scroll allllllll the way to the bottom. It's not HEAD ON but you get the idea.
Nice pipe, not something I'd smoke. More like a show piece or collectable.

Not a hard-core fan by any means but I re-read some of HP's work from time to time.
Conventional take on the old ones but the only one I've seen done on a pipe.

I'd smoke the thing with no hesitation at all.

OK, Im going to be the lone dissenter here, being the total Lovecraft nerd that I am. I have read the mans entire literary offerings several times over, and have lots of Cthulhu related stuff sitting in my closet. The only thing that I can say about this pipe is:
8O :worship:

Yuck. I'll stick to my cheapies. And I have no idea what lovecraft is so maybe that's why I don't care for it.

I still think Trever Talbert gets the closest to the Lovecraft aesthetic in his pipe carvings. I submit this beauty for your examination. Talbert's 2010 Halloween Pipe:

That is actually a sweet pipe, loborx--but damn you for adding another name to my PAD list

Well, since it's a dedicated thread, I'll drop the picture bombs from Downie:

I really like that R'lyeh pipe. The Cthulhu is a bit over-the-top for my taste but I have to give it props for detail and coloring. I don't think I would ever smoke it. I would just pull it out to scare trick-or-treaters on Halloween!

I'm not too big on figural briars but the first here sort of appeals to me. The Downie koo-koo-Cthulhu...not so much, but the artistry does impress me. I have however loved his R'lyeh since I first saw it. Maybe it's those non-Euclidean angles...
And since it's that time of year...
