I almost pulled the trigger on it this morning, but held back. Too many commissions going at the moment. Joe Nelson makes a great pipe though - I have one and love it - and he was a complete pleasure to deal with.
That is a beauty. I've always read good things about this maker. A quick run thru his gallery had me salivating over this Rhodesian. A home run hitting all of my key attributes.
That is fantastic. That one sold for $375, but not sure how long ago that was. I always thought if I had a shape like that commissioned (same finish, shape and stem) that I would get it from Rad, but I like this one even better. I like some sort of stem logo as well and that mother-of-pearl in silver is a nice touch.
Peck - I'm partial to blasts myself, and that's a truly amazing pipe! What do you think of Joe's stem work? I think my Old Nellie Panel Dog has the most comfortable bit of any pipe I own.
That panelled bull dog really is a striking pipe. Just a classic. I love joe's stem work - Harris, if your watching, you should give one a try, because I know you are really picky about your stems. I think you'd really appreciate an Ole Nellie pipe.
Whoowee! That is one nice looking pipe. Little rich for my blood but Im sure that it is worth every single penny. Bulldogs and Rhodesians probably tie for one of my all time favorite shapes and seeing all these pipes just makes me salivate for another.
I have come to love the bulldog / rhodesian shape over time. I have two, and keep looking for more. I also love sandblasted or rusticated finishes.
It would have to be a special occasion indeed to pull the trigger on the pipe in this post. Really stunning work. Thanks for bringing the pipe maker to my attention.
