When someone is offering a pipe or pipes for sale on Forums, is it desirable or only annoying to have someone who is not buying the pipe chime in with positive information? If I like the pipe, have one like it I enjoy, see something especially good about it, or think it is an especially good price, etc., I will sometimes do an encouraging post, thinking I am helping sell the pipe. Sometimes I refrain from doing that thinking, either buy the pipe or keep out of it. So I'd like a little input, a vote if you will, on whether to join in with encouragement or shut up unless I'm buying. I suspect opinions will go both ways, but I'll accept the majority rule.

A couple of times I have posted an encouraging word and never a discouraging one. But, for the most part, I don't post on pipes for sale threads. Doesn't really make any kind of sense for me to do so, unless the seller has a question about the pipe being sold and has asked for input.

sable', I'm taking that as a sort of third party vote. You don't make a practice of it, but you've done it for particular reasons in the past. That's reasonable, but i don't read it as a yes or no vote. Thank you! You're about where I am -- sometimes I cheer on the sale, but mostly I mind my own business.

I prefer any commentary go as PM's and not posts in a FS thread. I have to monitor every post in this section, which is challenging enough without extra chatter. I'll close this one now.
