I'll go a little lighter then all of these great suggestions.
McCelland's Jubilee. It's sweet, tart, smokey, but never at the same time. It's a very light smoke IMO. At times it almost tastes like Earl Gray. Pitchfork turned me onto it.
GLP Chelsea Morning. A little heavier, but sweet, smokey, creamy and at times almost a little coffee like taste. I always smoke this with a lightly sweet iced coffee and cream. Still what I would call a light English.
If your looking to get into Virginias, Va/Pers, or combinations with cavendish in them, I would add and second the following.
Orlik Golden Sliced for a pure soft Virginia
PS LBF for a splash into the Virginia/Perique/Cavendish world
Prairie Wind from 4Noggins for a soft, sweet, mild Va/Per
Rattray's Marlin Flake for a SWEET, peppery, raisin-like flake.
McCellan's Beacon for a sweet, savory VaPer. It's like seasoned brisket in a pipe bowl. I literally want to eat it with a fork and knife, then mop up what's left with bread.
