Five Brothers, "Made in Denmark, Imported by Lane Limited," is popular with some

Forums members including me. It's billed at various pipe smoking sites as a Burley,

or in one case as a Virginia Burley. It's sold as an over-the-counter tobacco in a light

brown pouch which comes up looking greenish in some photographs, but isn't in

person. It's cut to a fine shag, and comes dry and keeps well for months. It burns fast

and has a strong nicotine kick. Even some who like it, say it doesn't have much taste,

but i find it tasty, nutty, with a little edge but not much bite. It burns really fast and

makes a nice short smoke. I have blended it with other tobaccos but have come to enjoy

it by itself as a quick after-meal smoke. Though it burns slow, don't push it, smoke it

slow, so as not to get light-headed, unless you simply don't react to nicotine. Five

Brothers isn't quite like anything else; it is in a class by itself. You may have to make an

effort to buy it, by ordering it. I haven't seen it at smoke shops. It comes in a 1.25 oz

pouch. I recommend a small pipe; a Group 3 is perfect, in my opinion. If you like it,

you'll always want some around, and if you don't, it's pleasingly inexpensive. Good stuff.

I like it for mixing with my aromatics. Just a little doesn't change the flavor and still gives it a bit of a nic kick. Don't know if I'd smoke it alone as I think it would have too much nic in it for me.
