Finally was able to enjoy a pipe with a cup of coffee. I live in a condo building and the local laws and condo rules prohibit smoking anywhere in or near the building, even on the outdoor balconies, so I didn’t get to enjoy this pairing until a few days ago, when I went on vacation to visit family in another state.

The pipe is a Savinelli Roma Lucite 122, with MacBaren Scottish Mixture tobacco. The coffee is a Starbucks medium roast, brewed in an Aeropress.

Cheers ☕

I don't put much stock in "pairings", most of it is bunk... but the flavor of non-aromatic burley does pair well with 100% arabica (Columbian or otherwise), medium roasted black coffee, especially if you get it brewed right (medium roast arabica should be slightly sweet and fruity in most circumstances when brewed correctly). I also like burley based navy flakes with coffee.

Otherwise, I mean I almost always drink black coffee no matter what I am smoking, but it goes better with burley and some Englishes to me than aromatics or virginia-based and straight-va blends.

Good to hear! I have the same issue. Luckily, I have a park just across the street with several benches. I don't smoke that often and I think this is one of the reasons. It is a bit of PITA.

I really love my Savinelli pipe. Your pipe looks fantastic. The aeropress makes great coffee. I have one and a coffee grinder. I am doing much the same as you as I write, only tea just now. Draconian tobacco rules in that condo LOL. Can you smoke in your car? Maybe even drive someplace. I have smoked at Food City in the parking lot, same at Mc Donalds, Walmart, parks, ect. I would definitely find some, several in fact; places where it is nice a quiet and you can enjoy that nice pipe.

The best pipe of my day is the first one with a cup of coffee. In the warm months it's Luxury Navy Flake, in the cooler months it's Bob's chocolate Flake. Coffee is always Pete's Major Dickenson's Blend pour over.

After 8 years I’ve still never sat down with a pipe and coffee! I don’t typically drink anything with a pipe, and if I do it’s cold water in the hot months. But I’m also typically a late-night smoker, sometimes an afternoon session, but almost never a morning session.
