So I was surprised with a few bags of tobacco a few days ago by the girlfriend and figured I should cellar a bit of each. So I took some small mason style jars, used for jams, cleaned them and then packed it in. Out of curiosity I just looked at the jars, tucked away in a dresser drawer, and the tobacco seemed to have expanded a bit. The top of the jar has the seal button that obviously clicks when pushed since I can't seal it completely air tight.
But my main concern is down the line If I open them up and find mold I will be pretty steamed. Should I have any concerns? Thanks!!

If the jars are warm when you fill them the button should click down when they cool.

I don't do a lot of "jarring" my tobacco, but by insuring the jars are sterile, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

YMMV
