First smoke in my new Peterson standard system XL315

Smoked my first bowl in my new Peterson this evening.

Captains Choice.

Earlier this afternoon I cleaned the bowl down to the briar with rubbing alcohol. Don't know what was in the bowl but it was sure dirty with some black gunk.

As it turned out the first bowl was amazing. Very good smoker. Smoked about a 3/4 bowl. This is my first experience with a P-lip and I have to say I really enjoyed it.

I didn't let the bowl get more than warm and 'sipped' my way all the way through, savoring the flavor of the Captains Choice; a local blend.

I sat in the garage and watched a thunderstorm rage outside the door.

Very relaxing and enjoyable.

That first bowl is a celebration of sorts. :clap: I wish many more great smokes for you.

Some time ago, maybe 2 or 3 yrs. now, there was a lot of talk about how new Petersons had stain in the walls of the bowl that supposedly caused a foul taste. The fix was to swab the bowl with alcohol, like you did. Got any pipe porn to share with us?

I forgot to mention that I also took a tiny bit of honey on the tip of my finger and ran my finger around the inside of the bowl to coat it.
