First smoke from a restored estate

A few weeks back, I cleaned up a few estate pipes....a couple of which, I've turned into smokers. One of those is a Dr Grabow Duke bulldog.....with a pretty tiny bowl. Over the last few days, I picked up a couple Frog Morton varieties, and decided that I'd give one a try.....Frog on a Log.....it was wonderful! To date, I've only smoked aromatics, and this Latakia blend was completely different, and completely BETTER! I think this Dr Grabow is going to be my "try a new tobacco" pipe, as the bowl is so small and it smokes like a champ. I can't wait to try the "on the town" and "on the bayou" I picked up yesterday.

MoJo ... Im not sure but I think there is a rule that if you talk about a pipe you gotta show a pic of the pipe. I would hate to see you get kicked off for such a thing. ... Joking of course. Enjoy the FIND!

It took me a few months to finally acquire a latakia blend. I too was impressed with the distinctive aroma and the nice cool and tasty smoke it imparts. I haven't tried any of the Frog series, but I'm sure I will eventually.

Because it was your first Lat, it will be your benchmark. Mine was a bulk from Newminster. By the time I tried NightCap, I was 'attuned'. Love Latakia, but not all the time. I intersperse it with OTC's, Bulk VaBur coins, and some Cav based aros. My scrap mix usually tastes pretty good, too.
