I’m very new to pipe smoking and I attended my first ever pipe show (St.Louis) with my nephew and a friend. I gotta say, everyone I encountered was nothing but friendly and helpful. So many great pipes and makers and a good selection of tobaccos. If you haven’t attended a show, I highly recommend it. Here is my haul from the show!

Very nice. I have not attended one yet. Are prices about the same or better?

From what I saw, most prices were cheaper on estate pipes and new tobacco. For instance the plum pudding was $15 & quiet nights was $10. The MM cob was retail but that was expected because the actual retail company was there and Missouri Meerschaum is local to us. Each of the pipes I bought was $10-$20 and a friend found an old unsmoked Stanwell for $40. The other really cool thing is there was a lot of aged tobacco there from private sellers but I don’t know enough about aged tobacco prices to know if there were good deals to be had. Also, Lane was there and that’s 8 baggies of different tobacco samples-about 6 ounces total-for $4! Can’t beat that.
