Today, I finished my first tin!

Based off my first post on a pipe forum, I have been smoking for 10 years, today. That post was asking how avoid inhaling. I knew inhale and exhale, but how do you get the smoke in your mouth without inhaling. Someone quickly told me what “inhale” means in the pipe smoking community.

As I stated, I believe that this is first tin I have finished. The blend was Haddo’s Delight. This is a very good VAPER! But, at this point, I have 60 jars of tobacco and 17 unopened tins. Ignoring the massive consumption during a pipe show, my consumption is once a day to once a week. There is a 98% chance that my calculation about this tin being the first that I have finished is incorrect.

Happy tenth anniversary! I like your moderate pace with the pipes. I'm at about one bowl a day, sometimes none, sometimes two or three. I've been at it since about 1978 or so, with a long stretch without the pipes, in solidarity with my late wife who quit a heavy cigarette habit. Haddo's Delight was a pleasant way to start. I think my first baggie from Tinder Box was an aromatic they called North Star, probably a Lanes or Sutliff aromatic.

Well, congrats on having been here for 10 years. You know it seems like I have been here 10 years, also.

Couldn't begin to tell what my first blend was but can guarantee you it wasn't as good as Haddo's Delight/

In the semi-rural NorthEastern USA
when I started I'd finish the one tin or bag I had before getting another one. More of a what am I smoking this week then what am I smoking today. And pretty much from the begining it was one or two pipes with a lot of other tobacco thrown in. Pipes have always been my favorite but not the most convenient way to go.

Congrats. My first tobacco was a bulk blend from my local tobacconist called London Bridge, it was similar to Father Dempsey, a good medium English. Back then I would smoke one tin at a time, now with jars and cellaring, I’m all over the place, lol. Only thing I stick to is Smoking certain blends for all 4 seasons. Burly right now for fall and English for Christmas and Winter.
