Well, my pipe collection grew again and I received my clay pipes from Penn Valley Pipes today. I ordered a Dutch Gouda and a 16" tavern pipe. The bowls, as I have seen mentioned, are fairly small. It made for a good ~20 minute smoke which is nice if I don't have a lot of time.
The first one I tried was the Dutch Gouda with some English blend tobacco. It was amazing. A cooler, drier smoke than I have ever had. The bowl did heat up but not so much that it burned me when I accidentally grabbed it. I'll have to add my review of the 16" pipe later when I have time to smoke it.

I have a 16" tavern pipe. Its a great smoker, small bowl, but smokes great.

First my gouda pipe...

...and then my tavern pipe.

Both of them are with the tobacco I first smoked in them.

The tavern pipe smoked well but I was disappointed in how the tobacco tasted and the amount of tongue bite. Not sure why because it tastes great and rarely bites in my old pipes. Oh well, looks like I will have to do some experimenting with tobacco.
As for the pipe, the only problem is figuring out how to light it since I need 2 hands to strike the match and one to hold the pipe.
