I have been wanting a poker for a while now... and the Mrs. said pick one and you'll get it for xmas...

I had come pretty close to giving up... seems like they all sell out or get out of my price range...
Well, I went on the Boswell site to get some tobacco today (they seem to never have any of those great pipes in stock... but I like to dream... so I looked anyway) and... there were three pokers available!

THERE WERE ABOUT 9 PIPES AVAILABLE... when I started looking and they started disappearing by the minute...

So, I called... and... hey, I finally have a poker! cool...

Congratulations on your new pipe. Normally they post new pipes every Wednesday but I noticed they posted new ones today. Being shipped earlier should allow receipt by Christmas. I hope you enjoy the pipe for many years.

"we use the finest quality aged briar - "cream of the crop" is what the proprietor of the mill calls it."
The mill? Come on, really? Boswell's pipes are too good to have someone blow stuff like this out of their proverbial bottom.

That is JM. He told me on my last visit, he had enough briar to last another 20 years. I'll have to ask about the mill. He did say he gets many calls per week asking to buy briar from him. He never sells any. He hasn't bought briar for many years, so the aged part is true. He was a part owner in a pipe company a decade or so back (one in NY). When that dissolved, he kept most of the stock and has it stored in several nearby warehouses. He's a pretty shrewd businessman.
Congratulations on that new Poker!
