Maybe what's really happening is they aren't having trouble keeping things in stock they just have so much CB they can't store much else.

I don't like any of those codger blends though I am definitely qualified as a codger.
yeah most of them aren't my cup of tea at all. At least the ones I've tried. Though I think there is always the chance that one of these codger blends might tickle your fancy. So far I've found two I actually like and buy and a few that if they were the only thing available I wouldn't switch to cigars as my only smoke. But Captain Black for example is honestly unsmokable to me the pg in it just ruins it.

it is nice to not be concerned when a blend is on sale and it isn't one you care for. Although it is nice to see these sales regardless because there is always someone out there that will appreciate a particular blend as well as a sale.
CB is one I haven't tried yet aside from a pouch of Grape which is not too bad IMO and is far less goopy than I would been led to believe. Some of these others are great OTC blends but I have been trying to slow down a bit on tobacco purchases and have switched to a slight PAD for the moment.

Was at a local Walgreens the other day. Looked over the counter and the only pipe tobacco I saw was CB in white pouch. Didn't buy it. Really don't regret it at all.
Okay, I'll stand up for Captain Black. I like Captain Black original; I find RLP-6 to taste about the same and is cheaper in bulk so I smoke it. I also like CB Royal, which some say is the same as 1-Q. To my taste I like CB Royal a lot better than 1-Q. I recently saw on Pipes and Cigars website that Captain Black will no longer be sold by the manufacturer in bulk. I checked and Cup o' Joe no longer has it in bulk, but West Virginia Smokeshop still has it. I was glad to see the sale. I got a couple cans of CB Royal for longer term storage, and bought a little bulk while it is still available. I smoke a lot of non-aromatics, but still like some of the aromatics now and then.
that is cool. Love the way it smells but to me it taste gross. The thing is I swear pg is like cilantro where it taste wildly different to different people. I get this weird chemical taste that over powers what I can tell would be a nice blend otherwise.
CB et al. give aromatics a bad name. I'm mostly an aromatic smoker and I won't touch that goopy mess.
Same with me. It tastes like engine coolant.
The only CB that tempts me is Grape, just because it's incongruous and unlikely. Borkum Riff Bourbon is the only Riff I like, but throw whiskey on any tobacco and I might like it, though I'm only an occasional drinker of it. Whiskeys, liqueurs, and rum just step up leaf in a proper way, the way food flavors like chocolate and cherry don't for me. Vanilla is okay.
