Ferndown or L'anatra, I do not Know Which One I Should Buy

i have looked at one ferndown for a long time, and i like it very much. it is about $200. however, these days, i have met my favorate pipe shape, it is a L'anatra one. more interesting is that its price is also $200. which one will be my first new pipe in 2013?

I have both and L"Anatra are my favorites, Ferndown are no dogs but it looked like the Goose pipe honked a little better. The old cajun

L"Anatra for me was a better smoker, 1 was an estate barely used, 1 was a poker New never smoked and they are some damn good smokers. The old cajun

Both are excellent brands, but one main difference to me is that Ferndown uses vulcanite stems, L'anatra uses acrylic.

I own 2 Frendowns and both are excellent smoking pipes, they both smoke cool and dry and the vulcanite stems are very comfortable. I am sure L'Anatra's are great smokers since Bradley says so, but you cannot go wrong with a Ferndown. I prefer vulcanite stems much more than acrylic and the only pipe I will buy that has an acrylic stem is a Castello.
ghost, do you have pics of the two you are thinking about?

I bought a big L'Anatra billiard several months ago, and it took well over 100 smokes to start smoking sweetly;

but once it (or I) found "the zone", it's been a tremendous pipe. My particular pipe likes Burley, but not Va. so much.

I have one Ferndown and a few L'Anatras. I think they are comparable, though I'd give slightly higher marks to my Ferndown (however, one pipe isn't enough to really base a decision on).

Thx cigrmaster! I have only one L'Anntras,I have no ferndow. I do not like silver ring pipe before, however, nowadays, I find silver ring pipe is interesting. I want to buy one ferndown. As most people know, ferndown has the best silver making. Some friends say pipes2smoke is less expensive. Do you know the shop in Canada?

Since PAD will always catch up with you buy 1 pipe from each company that you like. That way you can do the research all at one time. That will allow more time to enjoy the pipes when you receive them.
