For me, top of the list would probably be They Live (1988). Although based upon what society has devolved into at present, I'd insist that it be classified as a documentary.
With the onslaught of computerized special effects that now almost overwhelm any plot of a movie, I have gotten to where I value the old classics. Not exclusively, but especially the old black and white movies. The use of shading and camera angles really drive up the suspense for me. I dearly love the original, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
Probably my 2nd favourite Carpenter flick behind The Thing. Although that opinion changes on a weekly basis

When he stands before the people and tells them that if the people of Earth do not change their ways, this planet will "be reduced to a burned out cinder" I just jump up and say YES!!! I mean what a bad ass statement to make and to be able to back it up. Gort, the robot, is wonderful. Don't F _ __ with Gort!

Predator and Independence Day are good ones! Men in Black series good too
I always forget about Kingdom haha my bad. Recently watched them all again with my father, they are still just as amazing as I remember.

Absolutely, even the television series as well as the animated series. I remember being Cornelius for Halloween back in 1978.
I really enjoy "Ghost in the Shell." The 1995 anime, that is.

Same, I love everything Ghost in the Shell. Even led me to the music of Takkyu Ishino.
