Do you have a favorite pipe for hunting? What about a favorite tobacco? I have a Brigham Chinook that inevitable finds its way out during a day of hunting. For whatever reason I have seen more coyotes while smoking that pipe then any of my other pipes combined. For tobacco hunting I tend to lean towards Burley blends, mainly cause I find that burley is the easiest to load and keep going with minimal effort.

Always an MM cob, or MM Ozark for hunting, I'd hate to loose a nice pipe in the woods!

As for tobacco, just whatever I'm in the mood for. That being said, you can't go wrong with good ole Carter Hall, Prince Albert or Half & Half while in the great outdoors!

+1 for the MM I have a legend that is nice for the purpose. I like it when I'm bird hunting because clenching is easy. As for the smoke, it's been EMP for me, it doesn't require any attention.

Cobs... Hands down. I like a pony express. Super light and short easy to use hands free if need be and if it gets dropped in a puddle or broken no big deal. Incidentally the same pipe I use for fishing... I haven't had the pleasure of finding out if it floats or not.

The uplands which I hunt are invariably dry, and it is almost always windy, so the potential for a wildfire outweighs my desire to smoke afield. Consequently I limit that enjoyment to before and after the hunt, for then I may truly focus on my pipe and tobacco with no worries.

I like that pipe! That primer cap being used as the band is a great look and detail that speaks to me.

Went to sight in my crow gun this afternoon with a pipe full of Sail Green (granddad's fav) but having issues finding ammo it likes.
