Farewell Angie Stone, Roy Ayers

Rather shocked that Angie Stone was killed in a road accident last weekend, aged 63, and that Roy Ayers died yesterday aged 84.

They were both regulars to my ears and each had more than sufficiently unique qualities to stay in my broader musical rotation. RIP both.

Yes I was a big fan of both as well. I saw Angie Stone in concert. She opened for Anthony Hamilton. One of the best shows I’ve seen. I’m sure you also heard about the passing of D’Wayne Wiggins of Tony! Toni! Toné! We’ve lost some great artists this month. Sad days indeed.
