Just took my bulldog out and had a great time watching my little buddy playing in the leaves. It was one of those pipe nirvana moments; everything was great, the weather, my Stanwell and my Mac Baren Mixture.
So, two questions:
What is your favorite season to smoke a pipe?
and
I have not had the pleasure to smoke S&G Grousemoor, and I was wondering if Mixture had a similarty, and if Mixture was a lakeland??? I know Grousemoor is very unique, but I couldnt help but ask... :?
Edit: Moved to Pipe Tobacco Discussion

I mostly smoke outside or in my truck. Sometimes in the house, I will open a window in the office and point a fan out so the smoke will go out. So, my best times are when its warm enough to smoke outside. I dont care for winter.

I enjoy smoking in all four seasons equally well, and I switch blend types with the weather.

Grousemoor is very definitely a Lakeland style blend, though not as soapy and perfumey as most.

I haven't tried Mac Baren Mixture, but I very much doubt it is a Danish/Lakeland crossover.

Thanks for the info gents! I thought comparing Mixture to Grousemoor was a long, a pry silly, shot... but hey...
I am an outdoor smoker, partly the wife, but I rent a non-smoking condo. Unfortunately, I don't get the stars in Chicago, but strolling the neighborhood is quite lovely still when the air is cool, but not cold. When winter comes around I just grow the beard and grab the jacket so I am warm outside while I smoke and walk the bulldog. I also try to match my blends to seasons, but I smoke certain blends year round.

I think I've smoked more tobacco since last December than I have since I started smoking a pipe. I will say that Spring is harder for me to smoke since I have some pretty bad seasonal allergies.
I love Autumn and all the smells with the crisp air and pipe smoking just goes well with it.

@ Lawrence, you gave a great review BUT... you didn't rate it at all. why?
I posted that back when LuxuryTobaccoReviews was just getting started.

And, I had to edit out some stuff that MS Word had added that wasn't compatible with the system.

When I got it the way I wanted it, I posted it. Only problem was that when you went back and forth in that section, you had to re-enter the ratings....

Well brain fart syndrome struck and I missed it.

I personally rate it very-very high.

Because it isn't rated, it doesn't show up when you search.

I'll ask Kevin to put the ratings in for me.

Haven't smoked Grousemoor. I'll smoke about 100 grams of Mixture a year - by the time the tin is done, I'm good for a while.

NO bad season to smoke a pipe, IMO. :puffy:

I haven't been smoking a whole year yet so I can't say. But if it gets much colder I'll at least have to start wearing my shoes again to go out for a smoke. (I usually wear something.)
