I couldn't agree more. Fall and pipes just seems to made for each other. Check out Fred Brown's new article for October right here, and light up a smoke while you do.

Fall and Pipes: Made for Each Other

Boy, you hit this one right on the head. Fall is such a wonderful time for so many things, and pipe smoking is right at the top of the list.

Living just one county from the KY/TN border, there is a lot of tobacco grown in this area. Mostly Burley and Dark Fire and this is the time of the year when the farmers have taken down the crop, placed it in the curing barns and started the smoldering of the sawdust in the base of the barns. This, of course is to cure the tobacco that is hanging on sticks in the upper part of the barn.

The smoke that is produced permeates the community and in the mornings, especially, one can step outside to a most delightful aroma of the curing tobacco in the barns.

Brings back such wonderful memories and is a perfect companion to smoking a bowl of your favorite blend.

Thanks for posting this article.

Fall is my favorite season. I love living in Wisconsin where we tend to get all four of them and as much as I love the hot and humid dog days of summer, there’s nothing better than coming into fall. The cooler temps, crisp air, the turning colors of the leaves and just the amazing smell of it all. Beer and cider tastes better as does sitting around a fire with friends. A good Smokey pipe compliments this season just right :)

Good article and I agree, Fall is my favorite time of the year for pipe smoking and being outdoors. A time to slow down after a busy spring and summer, sit back, and relax with a fine pipe and good tobacco.
