As some of you know I've bought my wife a Falcon 1/8th bent since she thought she might like to start smoking a pipe. I found a nice one on ebay only to find that the pictures were deceiving. The nice ivory stem is a mottled nicotene beige/brown.
I've soaked the pipe stem side down in bleach water and it lightened it up a bit. Then I took one of those magic sponge erasers to it which didn't do anything. Next I'll lightly sand it, and I'm really thinking about staining it. I'm just not sure of the process.
I want a stain that won't wear off. I can imagine my wife's reactions to blue lips. What stains should I consider using?
