Have a meerschaum Falcon bowl where the polymer thread ring has detached from the meerschaum bowl. Think I can reattach without altering much but am unsure of adhesive. It appears that the ring was secured to the meerschaum with some adhesive--not for sure. Are there appropriate glues for this? Meerschaum tends to heat up more than briar.

I am awaiting delivery of my first Meerschaum Falcon bowl from Star so I am interested in whatever you find out. On the briar bowls that "washer" thing in your photo seems to be just shoved over the threads and can be removed but I never do. It usually adjusts after a few on and offs. I would assume that a delicate twist would be called for as those pins are probably delicate.

I think those are the threads...
Here's my opinion:
Do NOT use super glue. That is cyanoacrylate (cyano = cyanide..)
I would think the white "kids" glue would work best since it is non toxic...
Again just my ramblings. Someone may have a better answer.

The UK seller offers replacement vinyl thread rings but the minimal shipping is around $15. Are you aware of any US Falcon sources Edger?

I that ring is the threads then you probably torqued the bowl too much. Super glue is used in surgery, but may be a bad idea near a flame.

Seller just advised not to use adhesive. He offered to send a free ring if I purchased another bowl (!).

I'm looking for US vendors.

The look back always being clearer I would recommend a meerschaum-lined Falcon bowl over the meerschaum bowl.

Wish I could find Falcon bowls in non briar woods. Especially apple and orange osage.
