Falcon Bowl Shapes

I have a Falcon Hunter which I smoke aromatics in. (which I like very much)

I have 2 bowls, the Apple and the Dublin.

It seems like the Apple bowl stays much cooler then the Dublin.

Is this my imagination or is this true for the shapes?

I've got 6 bowls including the dublin and with me that's the only one that gets a little hot, the rest are all okay.

I have each of the Falcon bowls in both smooth and rusticated. I find that the rusticated bowls smoke cooler.

The thickness of the bowl, irrespective of its shape is the main determining factor in the bowl getting hot.
Rusticated bowls can burn a little cooler due to having more surface area to dissipate the heat, therefore ideally you need to seek out a thick walled rusticated bowl.

The apple is rusticated and the dublin in smooth and the thickness difference considerable.
