As of late I am more kind to some ghosts. While certain ghosting may ruin smokes from your next tin, some are quite friendly. I have gotten to the point where I have enough pipes to experiment, thus i can smoke a larger variety. In spite of that I have become more lazy, I am not as attentive as to clean a pipe the whole mind yards after I switch a tobacco, reaming, salt, alcohol black bla. So I found some friendly ghosts. I just finished a jar of prince Albert soft vanilla. I keep a savinelli venere for burley based, so now I am fixing to switch the pipe to mac barren st bruno. I have a dedicated st bruno pipe, but I am curious as to what a soft vanilla ghost will do to this blend. I may be regarded as weird... but in the past I had positive results.

When I first got my Dunhill "birth year" pipe, a tiny poker, it had some sort of vanilla/tonkin/deertongue ghost, not sure which.
Due to the age, condition and size of the pipe, I elected to not subject it to any aggressive cleaning or de-ghosting regimen.
I chose a neutral blend (Kendal Dark) and smoked the ghost away. It was interesting observing the diminishing influence on the smoke as it progressed. Choosing a tobacco that is "compatible" to your ghost is essential to making it a positive experience.
Let us know how the vanilla Bruno goes!
