What I currently have in my inventory is as follows: 1Q, 7 Seas Gold, McClelland 5100, Dunhill Royal Yacht and GLP Maltese Falcon.
Although I started out very much into the 7 Seas and 1Q, I find myself more and more frequently grabbing the jar of GLP Maltese Falcon. Really, this stuff is AMAZING to me!
So I relize my tastes are evolving (don't get me wrong I still like the others for variety), but that GLP Maltese Falcon is becoming my go-to smoke. If I understand this correctly it is an "English-stlye mixture", so I'm turning to the group to provide recommendations of other blends to explore.
Thanks!
Sean
PS - I guess I feel a bit of TAD coming on....

Give McClelland 5110 a try. I like it a lot. There are also PS English mixtures that are tasty and inexpensive. English Luxury, Proper English and English Oriental Supreme. All three are staples in my cellar.

I'll second the Stokkebye English Luxury. I like it for a change of pace when I want a peppery-spicy smoke. It's also pretty cheap all things considered.

I might suggest Balkan Sasieni it has the same three tobacco's as Maltese Falcon, but does in my opinion offer a different smoke.

I love Maltese Falcon. I opened a new tin a week ago and it is half gone.
Maltese Falcon is quite unique. It is unlike any other English blend, although all of the above recommendations are excellent, none of them are like MF ...
A new one I just tried that is totally amazing and the closest thing to Maltese Falcon is:
Campanile

There is no Latakia in it, but it does have some smokiness, and it is definitely an "English-style", but it is Virginia and Turkish.

Thanks Kevin. I gathered from reading that Maltese Falcon is unlike other English blends. I In your opinion, what other English blends should I try?

As I said, all the previous recommendations are good. I would recommend them too.
Add Frog Morton to the list as well.
When my tastes started changing like yours are now, Maltese Falcon and Frog Morton were the two blends I tried at the same time and loved them both.
Another very unique blend, unlike any other is Shortcut to Mushrooms.

Good strong English? Old Ironsides (I've been really digging this one lately), Nightcap (strong in a nikko sense)

I have an open tin of Odyssey that I'm getting into. I find though that I still prefer Three Oaks Syrian. Strong Balkans are my bedtime smoke. I also have a closed tin of Maltese Falcon that I will try shortly. I've read that it is very similar to Balkan Sasieni which has long been a go-to bedtime smoke along with Penzance for me.

And So To Bed by Esoterica is a nice English, as is Knightsbride by Park Lane Tobaccos. I understand their Old Church is excellent but I've not tried it. Its a buld so its very reasonable.

I would go with the Shortcut to Mushrooms or McClelland 5110. Also a number of sites have sampler packs that you can mix and match a number of different blends for reasonable prices, even with shipping costs included. Check out the Cornell & Diehl website, along with smokingpipes.com and pipesandcigars.com. STM is available through Just For Him's website.
