ever since i started pipe smoking, i see things in a new light. i have been wanting a pipe rack for a good time now, just recently been looking online to purchase one. but tonight, we were going through some things at my moms house, and found some old small decoratice wooden shelves. or atleast thats what my fiance thought they were. they ended up being raw material for my new pipe rack that im now going to make myself. then continuing our search, i spotted one of my ...moms...old "purses" (as one might say) but in my eyes, its a leather satchel, to carry my pipes and tobacco for longer trips! :) everything looks different in the eyes of a pipe smoker...

So your saying when we smoke a pipe we eventually turn into cross-dressing carpenters! 8O Good God Man!
Im just playing i know exactly what your saying I am the same way, my friends bought me a money tree as a house warming and it died a few months later now I'm looking at the wood and seeing it i can turn it into a artistic rack or a tamper.
And after reading this i ransacked my wives purse box to see if she had a leather purse for a carry bag, but all i found was a pink and brown TNA bag, lots of room in it but i doubt i could ever pull it off.

I'm pretty convinced that with the right hat you could pull that off Smokey!
Just kidding... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't waiting for my wife's leather satchel from Roots to become to "ratty" to use. Maybe if I spilled a little tung oil on it...

As I fellow satchel carrier, let me remind you that the naysayers who may call it a man-bag, or a murse (male purse), or any other cute little name probably wouldn't be so brave in front of this gentleman:

HaHa See, i'm not crazy after all!
That's great! Another thing about "re-purposing" those shelves and purse/satchel is the fact that the items belonged to someone very important in your life. The icing on the cake as it were.
Yes, my mother passed away last year. Four months before my daughter was born. It will be nice to have those items around!
