I went to an estate sale over the weekend at the home of a man who used to be a trainer for the Cleveland Browns. Among other "manly" items, there were about 15 pipes, two of which I bought. They were $8 a piece, but they wouldn't do three for $20, so I just got two. As I was checking out, some came up to the cashier holding the whole box of pipes. I directed him to an upstairs bedroom where there were a couple of pipe stands.
Anyway, here's what I got:
The top one says "Paul's Cayuga/Oil Cured." The bottom one had something I've never seen before: a diffuser or something that flipped up over the top of the bowl:
It says "Sparkproof/Weatherproof" on one side, and "Algerian Briar/Made in France" on the other. What's the story with this thing? Like I said, I've never seen one like it before.
