The bags are a little dicey for long term storage. A couple of years ago, a member here warned that some of his bags had developed pinholes at the creases. I went through my stash and found a couple that were worrisome, so I bagged the bags in heat sealed Mylar. If you're going to smoke some now, jar it all. I recommend the smaller 4oz jars for what you want to smoke now, and the 8oz jars for the future.
Germain's Virginias tend to be quite moist, so give it an hour or so of drying time. I go by feel, not length of time. I experience the most flavor when I get the tobacco just shy of bone dry. Dry to the touch when squeezed but still pliant, not crumbling-into-dust dry.
