I put the whole bag (actually several bags) in a mylar bag and seal it.
Good plan.
At the same time, how long do you plan to cellar?
You may want to reconsider regarding the paint cans. The contents do lose moisture. The HU cans that I bought in 2016 have definitely lost some moisture compared with a fresh can. Back then the cans came with a plastic lid, which did significantly mitigate the rate of moisture loss, but even with the lids the contents are a bit drier.I take the tobacco in the bag as-is and put that in a Food saver bag, vacuum seal it and forget about it. It's a tad expensive but I do all my tobacco this way except the ring tops and paint cans which I leave alone.
It works great and I never have to worry.

Ya gotta remember...you are asking a lot of us guys who believe that a quarter inch of briar covered with wax breathes! BUT, you are talking a valuable commodity here and it can not hurt to error on the side of caution. I trust and use glass jars. Assorted sizes from quart, pint to cute little beggars that are amber and hold two ounces. What do you guys think? Do the bags leak air?
Best,
G
