Just took a trip to the local newsagents in search of erinmore flake but all they had was erinmore plug so I figured I'd give it a try. I sliced a few very thin flakes and rubbed them out and packed the bowl immediately, while it is moist it appears to be burning very well. Before i make a verdict on this tobacco I'm going to have to cube cut it (my favourite way to smoke mick mcquaid plug) to decide whether it is a tobacco for me. Has anyone smoked both the plug and the flake? If so what is the comparison of the two?

Erinmore is in my top five tobaccos, specifically the flake. The stuff is just fabulous - so good is it to my mind that I always buy two tins at a time, one to smoke and one to hide away - I've got some tins going back to 2002.
I smoke the mixture for a change of pace, and when I'm out of flake - there's usually an open tin on stand-by.
The plug is a little hard to get here - only one shop in Dublin sells it, that I'm aware of, but I don't get into town often, so don't get my hands on it as much as I would like. It is a wonderful smoke, absolutely super. Cut it how you want, think, thin, very thin, rub-out, fold, stuff or cube it - it works all ways for me, as does the flake. It has a bit more body.to it, and, add the pleasure of preparing a plug, you have a great experience.
The plug is the flake with extra oomph!!!
Don't know if that helps. Simply, I love this stuff - in order: mixture, flake, plug.

After smoking 2 bowls I will say that its a decent tobacco that burns really well but I think that Mick Mcquaid plug is more my thing. Dublin you say, do you know anywhere in Dublin that sells Captain Black? Also what shops are you getting the erinmore flake from?

Thanks man, I had a feeling could only get the plug here. Its no biggie as the only difference is that flake is easier to deal with on the go; but its not too difficult to cut a few flakes before i head out.
