I can't praise this lovely stuff enough, It's definitely won my heart. The most satisfying smoke I can recall.
Beautiful, dark walnut fruity little flakes with a heavy, sweet, fruity perfume that is satisfying before it's even out of the tin. Rolled and stuffed for a really slow, cool, smooth smoke or rubbed out for a slightly more intense experience, this tobacco burns evenly and leaves a clean talcum powdery ash all the way to the heel. Be gentle with the tamp, just using its own weight and your pipefuls will be easily managed and satisfying.
This was my late Dad's tobacco and I cannot believe that it took me this long to realise how right he was! Seems to me that it has taken a lot of years to realise he was right about a whole lot more than tobacco: It was ever thus for sons and Fathers.

Smoking some right now. This has shot to the top of my list.

It's fine stuff. I find it best with a year or 2 of age on it but it's also good right from the tin with some air drying time. It also makes exceptional snuff if you roast it, powder it and put it through a fine sieve.

I smoked a whole tin of the stuff and while I can understand that people like it I just couldn't bring myself to do that. It bit the hell out of me and I could hardly taste anything in it. I gave it a fair chance though!

That's unfortunate. It's one of my favorite smokes. It does bite and get scorching if smoked fast and/or rubbed ( which increases the burn rate BTW ).

I use it as a condiment. Add a bit to a nice virginia perique and the mild fruitiness plays well.

It is my everyday tobacco; I loaded almost 2 Kg of it in the Duty Free shop, last trip. I'm surprised that it bites to some; never has to me. If it is any reference, I pack it folding and twisting.

Because it always burns cool, dry, and no bite, it is my "standard" to compare other non aromatics.
