Erik gave me a signed copy of his father's book, which is very interesting. I am about half way through it, and used some of it to help write the article.

Great article Kevin. The book is one I've seen in many Pipe shops since I

found out that drug stores didn't have the monopoly on Pipes and blends. It's

a great read. Peter was held in high esteem by many and the company endures.

I've had the honor of meeting Peter some years ago. A truly great human being who is sorely missed. I've also read the book which is a fast and intereting read. It should be required reading for any business class on how things really work.

Here's the official answer straight from the company.
Villiger-Stokkebye, Charlotte, NC, USA is NOT owned by STG, in whole or in part in any way.
However, STG, owns the Orlik Tobacco Factory, which makes all the brands distributed by Villiger-Stokkebye.
STG also owns all the brands of pipe tobacco with the exception of the three Villiger 1888 blends.
