So a good forum member here shared some krum kake with me today and although the hype on it is what it is. The smoke is very good. I enjoyed the crap out of this stuff it is a shame production is non existent on this stuff....Overall a pretty tasty blend but yet again not anything I would pay a kidney for. Thanks Jeff (settersbrace) for the sample always a good time coming into the shop.

Just paying it forward, some of that sample came from another righteous forum member some may know as MLC. Often the best part of this hobby is sharing little tidbits of various rare and/or well aged tobaccos that we would otherwise only read about. I for one need to start keeping a list of the many blends I've had the pleasure of trying over the last couple years, many of which came to me by way of these forums.

Great thread title!

I saw an 8 ozzer for $65 and figgered I'd get it,

only recently smoked some.
I agree it is good,

but Lat blends really don't needle my hole too deep.
I was impressed with the broad earthiness and rich flavor and enjoyed the hell outta it,

but it was a one time shot for me - had to find out how it smoked.
It smoked good enough,

but my fave Lat blends remain Gawith Commonwealth, Robt. McConnell Lat Flake, Esoterica Pembroke, Dan Old Ironsides, and Sillem's London.
The Krummy Kake is a worthy contender,

but too far and few inbetween to seek out.
Good on Jeff for passing some along!

That is what makes this pipesmoking thang so glorious in my book.
:puffy:

you got to try some! congratulations and consider yourself one of the lucky ones. when i was a kid, my dad had about 30 GBD virgin briar pipes, and he smoked a lot of krumble kake back in the 70's and early 80's, i think. i used to sneek a bowl once in a while, and i'm sure this is what it was, however, for the life of me i can't remember what it tasted like. he would have whooped my butt if he'd have known, but i guess that's just part of "chancing it" as a kid.

Shane didn't show up empty handed, some pre-Butera Penzance found its way into my stash, some terrific English Rasberry snuff as well. Ask him how I reacted to a hit of his Indian snuff, White Elephant I think it was called? WOW!

Glad you enjoyed the white elephant lol! It takes a while to get used to taking that stuff. The penzance I am sure you will enjoy.... I still wish I could have got that big tin of captain black off of you.... Maybe when I get a tin of kingfisher we can make that straight up trade.... I still think i would get the better end of that deal! Actually I should see how much Mike would sell that for...lol
