Calling all English lovers out there! What is your go to, tried and true never fails, always good, no matter what time of year or mood your in English blend? Not trying to start a "desert island thread" the Lord knows they've been done to death! Just want to know if you have a blend that consistently delivers, whether you want to sit back and contemplate or just mow the lawn.

Often when I don’t know what I want to smoke I turn to Sunset Harbor Flake. It isn’t a blend that gets a lot of attention here but for me it is a
“blend that consistently delivers, whether you want to sit back and contemplate or just mow”.

First question is there a bad English? Some so-so ones but still they are ENGLISH! For me, my very first English experience still trips my primary trigger that being Stokkebye's English Oriental Supreme. What follows based upon objective scoring for the many I've reviewed :

SPC Plum Pudding
Country Squire Bag End
JM Boswell Northwoods
Sutliff Heavy English
Peretti Pride of Lochmond

All of the above that I have tried are very good.

I often resort to GH&Co's Scotch Mixture.

When most other GH&Co blends are sold out, this one is usually in stock and provides me an enjoyable experience.

Mine was always Cornell and Diehl Super Balkan. A hearty English blend with a nice backbone and surprising complexity. Available in bulk and very reasonably priced.

Flavorful enough for mowing the lawn without thinking about it.

Enough complexity to sit and think.

my top three are C&D Mountain Camp which is really a Scottish but good. Ashton Consumate Gentleman is very underrated. And then for cross overs Cary Grant by Krammers is awesome.

This thread has caused me to revisit Arango Balkan Supreme. I smoked a lot of this before I got distracted by Virginia/Perique blends. You can't go wrong with this.

That is currently my favorite latakia blend. Second would be Stratfordshire.

The addition of "Arango"on Balkan Supreme never fails to amuse me. Whether it's Arango, Stokkebye, P&C, etc, it's the same blend. The brand name just changes depending on who is distributing it. It's the 1-Q of latakia blends. Some have even suggested that Danish made Pelican and Balkan Sasieni are it as well.
