Here's an article about Einstein's pipe that was run on the Smithsonian site. As they point out, he apparently had several (a number?) of pipes, but they only have custody of the one. After his doctor advised him to give up smoking pipes, he often just chewed on them. I don't know if the link will work, but here it is:

Dunhill 5101, I believe. I think he's shown smoking it in one of the photos. The stamp is hard to make out,...might be german, might be a relativistic equation...or might need to grab a magnifying glass.

I could only make out the last four letters. BEAU. The first letter is a C or G, followed by O. And it looks like a T before BEAU.

It's listed as PIPE according to the Smithsonian. Mystery solved.
Thanks for posting the link mso. I've seen pictures of it before, but it's always photographed from the right side. This is the first picture of the nomenclature I've seen.
