I have a nice bulldog coming in, and I’m trying to understand the stampings on it. Do you think there is no COM because of the DR marking? I think I read somewhere that DR were made in London vs the others (non DR) in France. So, i wonder if/how that affected COM stamping back then. In regards to the date, I’m getting 1923. Is that what you folks are getting?

Neat pipe! I hope you get an answer soon. What do you mean by no COM? Oh, I just think I figured it out. "Country of manufacturer"? It does say London, though it isn't a country but I think everyone assumes England.

The Made In England with year suffix is missing in this one. Most others from this era (and most in general) have it. So I was I was wondering if the fact it was truly made in England (and not France) contributes to the COM absence.
