Yes! I have one I got 50 years ago, and have lost a few in between. Love it. Loved the store in mid-town Manhattan, shuttered some time ago.
Have you some?

In talking about NYC pipe shops. I worked in Mid-town Mid 80's - 90's and stopped every month (Eye Candy) at Wilke's, Pipeworks and Connoisseur. 3 Wilke's, 2 Elliott Nachwalter, 1 Pipeworks, and 1 Connoisseur.

Nice pipes. Looks like I’m not the only one to keep the rubber bits on almost all of my pipes

One of the first pipes I ever bought over 50 years ago. Still have it. Still smoke it. It was a wonderful shop.

They were a Manhattan pipe-smoking institution. If you got 'em, smoke 'em! I don't have a Wilke, but I have a few of the old Benton pipes sold as house pipe by Iwan Ries, with the oil cured Algerian briar. They have a fill or two, but are handsome pipes that last forever.

Thanks to all. I have my eye on one ......think I'll buy it tomorrow.
I'm aware of the NYC history. but it was living in California in its last days. I would think they would've had good briar, having been a going concern for so many decades.

I forgot to add, the pipes marked E. WILKE, N.Y.C. all in one line are the older ones ~ 1950's -'60's. The ones marked E. WILKE over N.Y.C. were the later ones. Pipes from both eras are good smokers, and good values!
