Even with putting my cake of 10 Russians in a Mason, I've noticed it is just slightly drier than when I first received it. It was in the tin for about 2 weeks before being put in a Mason jar. Does this happen normally even without being cellared properly? Thanks, LeRoy

If it is still in cake form, then I doubt you have dried out anything but the outside layer, and no it has not dried out during the time you sealed it in a mason jar, unless you can see condensation on the inside of the jar.
