I tried Drexel's flake and it was like smoking hot air. The pouches weren't sealed either.

The rehydration attempt failed due to user error (meaning me) but I was disappointed with the few flakes I did try.

While I would not try again (especially when there are some great bulk flakes available), I did a search on this forum before purchasing Drexel and saw a few people enjoyed it. It's not like you're out much cash to try. Just use a pouch to push you into free shipping (like with pipe cleaners).

heard for what it is it's not bad. Which what it is, is cheapest tobacco you can buy for your pipe. The thing is it's cheap enough you buy it just to prank snobs. Get them to smoke it and review if before telling them what it is.

I was curious. I started off thinking all cheap tobacco must be trash and I have since been proven wrong several times. Thanks for the input always appreciate it.

Some inexpensive tobaccos are really better as mixers. There are some very good inexpensive tobaccos that can stand on their own and that can only be found out by your own taste buds.

After trying it out I bought a few more pouches to jar up. I liked it. It's similar to LNF but a little darker in the flavor profile. It's nothing fancy, but it's got a good straightforward flavor and the price, especially now, is terrific.
It has a tendency to arrive dry, but I didn't have any trouble getting a bit of moisture into it using a clay button.
I actually tracked down the other Drexels that were on sale a while back, too, and they were also pretty good - an English an a vanilla cavendish.

This has become a go-to commuter smoke...I got a pouch of this on a whim last month and have gotten several more as it's super cheap. ...I fortunately have consistently gotten a solid VaPer flavor out of it - I definitely see the comparison to PS LNF.

I have all the pouches in a tupperware humidor, the first pouch did well after marinating for a week with a boveda shoved straight in there.

Given that all my pouches are 5 years old, I wonder if they'll make more and/or how much of this stuff is left. It's such a well behaved smoke, partly due to the dry state of it, but I think it's just a solid smoke overall.

The first pouch I smoked was excellent, nicely formed flakes, a hint of some kind of sweet topping, nice basic light vaper. The next couple pouches were crispy dry, flakes broken up, and tasted like Canadian cigarettes with a suggestion of perique.

I liked the first new pouch better, but don't mind the old dessicated ones at all, still a decent smoke at a low price.
