Dr. Grabow Stem issues

Ebay pipe. Stem just spins. I froze it, tried to pinch shank in a vice (gently.) Nothing, just spins, can't get a pipe cleaner thru it either. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Try some beeswax on the tenon, may take several applications. Or go straight to the clear nail polish on the tenon, if it's that loose.

Does it have a stinger (older ones)? Won't get a pipe cleaner thru unless you remove it. All the new ones are fit for 6mm filters, so harder for the cleaner to align thru the big gap.

Same issue on vintage Starfire. Screw in stem with stinger. I tossed stinger long ago but cant remove stem. It will not unscrew. It just turns. I can get a pipe cleaner thru so its not too bad. It is what it is.

Got it out with heat but cracked the stem when putting it back together. Oh well......on to the next one.

You can get replacements from Grabow. They still have adjustomatic stems. And still make them
